Once you have installed the Online Backup software, your
encrypted data will be sent, via the Internet, to our servers.
Our servers are housed in a state of the art data facility
which is physically secure and electronically sound.
Facility: The physical location is secure and can
only be entered by authorized personnel. Security includes
biometric palm scanners for access control. Data center
personnel are on duty 24 hours a day, monitoring equipment
to ensure its availability when you need it. Proper cooling
systems, air quality systems and fire management systems
provide an "electronics friendly" internal environment.
Battery backup systems are in place and there is a diesel
generator on site in case of an extended power failure.
Electronics: The data center is state of the art
with multiple, redundant, high speed connections to the
Internet that provide large bandwidth "pipes"
for data flow.
Our servers use high reliability hard drives in a RAID
5 configuration. RAID 5 distributes data across an array
of hard drives so that, if one drive is lost, there is no
loss of data. In addition, when necessary, a drive can be
replaced while the system is still operating. This allows
for maximum uptime of our backup servers and maximum use
of the system by you.
Now, take all of the above and double it. Your data will
be stored in two separate facilities. If one were to be
totally lost in a disaster, or physical or electronic access
denied for some reason, your data will be accessible from
the second location.
